Excursion to the Bosch Semiconductor Fab in Dresden

On 16 April 2026, ETIT students and staff of Chemnitz University of Technology will have the opportunity to visit the Bosch semiconductor fab in Dresden and gain insights into modern semiconductor manufacturing and Industry 4.0.

During the excursion, you will learn more about the site and its technologies and gain an overview of current developments in sensor and semiconductor production.

Programme:

  • 13:00: Arrival and reception
  • 13:15–13:45: Presentation of the Bosch Semiconductor Fab Dresden
  • 13:45–14:45: Guided tour (Visitor Centre and PFA laboratory)
  • 14:45–15:00: Coffee break
  • 15:00–15:15: Introduction of the Bosch Dresden team
  • 15:15–15:45: Presentation on Industry 4.0
  • 15:45–16:15: Introduction to Bosch Sensortec
  • 16:15–16:45: Summary and open questions

Health-AI Hackathon 2026 at Chemnitz University of Technology

On 5 and 6 May 2026, the Health-AI Hackathon will take place at Chemnitz University of Technology under the motto “Rethinking healthcare in the age of generative artificial intelligence”.

In interdisciplinary teams, participants will develop prototypes for real-world healthcare challenges within 48 hours. Participation is free of charge and open to students, early-career researchers, and practitioners from various disciplines.

bits, bonding, bassline – Festival of Electronics in Dresden

The business festival of electronics bits, bonding, bassline will take place on 19 June 2026 at Stromwerk Mitte in Dresden. The event combines music, networking and exchange between students, young professionals and industry.

The festival connects students, doctoral candidates and professionals from electrical engineering, computer science and related fields with companies from the electronics and IT sectors. In addition to musical performances, several formats for networking and exchange are planned.

The programme includes:

  • Live music and DJ acts
  • Student pitches and company pitches
  • Bonding sessions and networking formats
  • Exchange between industry and young professionals

Erasmus+ program - application phase is ongoing!

The application phase for an Erasmus+ semester abroad in the winter semester 2025/26 and summer semester 2026 has begun!

  • Application deadline: March 31, 2025
  • Funding opportunities:
    • Group 1 countries: €600 per month (AT, BE, DK, FI, FR, IE, IS, IT, LI, LUX, NL, NO, SE)
    • Groups 2 and 3 countries: €540 per month (BG, CY, CZ, EE, EJRM, ES, GR, HR, HU, LT, LV, MT, PL, PT, RO, SI, SK, TR)
    • Additional funding for "fewer opportunities": €250 per month

Colloquium "Electromagnetic Drive Technology and Energy Conversion"

On March 27, 2025, the scientific colloquium for the appointment of the professorship "Electromagnetic Drive Technology and Energy Conversion" will take place. The venue is lecture hall C25.017 in the Weinhold-Building.

Women-in-Science Day

On March 7, 2024, Chemnitz University of Technology invites you to the "International Women-in-Science Day" at the Alte Heizhaus (Straße der Nationen 62) to honor the role of women in science and research.

The program starts at 09:00 AM with a talk by Dr. Mahsa Samsami on "Women Entrepreneurship Ecosystem," followed by a panel discussion at 11:00 AM on "Chances and Challenges as a Woman in Science." Both sessions will be held in English.

In the afternoon, networking opportunities will be available for (junior) professors, including discussions with the Vice-President and the Gender Equality Officer. Further details will be published in the event calendar and via TUC Aktuell.

  • Level Up – Energy in Oberzent (Hessen): Work on innovative energy concepts for the municipality’s 19 districts, analyzing potentials and developing infrastructures.
  • Network Structures – Connected City in Oberzent (Hessen): Develop a communication and networking strategy that targets audiences and modernizes the city’s image.
  • Thinking: Innovation + Space + Education in Althofen (Kärnten): Design a concept for shared/open/coworking spaces as hubs for work, education, and community.

Study on Personality Research

Dear Students of Electrical and Information Engineering,

My name is Katharina Koch, and I am studying Psychology at TU Chemnitz. For my master's thesis, I am looking for participants for a study that investigates the interplay of personality traits, intelligence, and academic performance. The goal is to find out to what extent personality can compensate for a lower IQ.

The study consists of an intelligence test (40 minutes) and an online survey (15 minutes). The sessions will take place from January 8 to 22, 2025, at Wilhelm-Rabe Straße 43, Room 4/037. You can participate if you are between 18 and 30 years old, speak German well, and are a student.

There are vouchers to be won (1x €50, 2x €20, 1x €10) for every 100 participants. Just sign up with your email address (it will remain anonymous) and invite your friends: Participation Link.
