Online information event on Open Access publishing under terms of the Wiley DEAL

Information on library use from May 4 2020
From May 4 2020 the University Library will reopen for lending and interlibrary loan.
Only the Campus Library I, Reichenhainer Str. 29a, will be open Monday - Friday from 10.00 am to 2 pm.
Orders must be placed via the order button of the online catalog.
You will receive information by e-mail when the book can be collected from CampusBibliothek I. Depending on the location of the book, it may take about 2 days.
Pickup is only possible if you observe the rules of hygiene (minimum distance and wearing of mouth/nose masks).
Books from the reading room collection can be borrowed for one week.
Requests are again possible as usual via the interlibrary loan form.
Loan periods of interlibrary loans lent before May 04 2020 will be extended by the University Library to a maximum of June 02 2020.
Interlibrary loans that were available for collection but could no longer be borrowed before the closing of the library are no longer available. If you need them, please send an information to firstname.lastname@example.org. The library will reorder the interlibrary loan again. There are no new costs.

Reservations will be available for collection in Campus Library I for seven days at a time.
From May 4 media can be placed in a return box, which is in front of Campus Library I between 10.00 pm and 2 pm on weekdays.
Reserved media can also be returned via this return box.
Returned media can also be sent to the University Library by mail:Technische Universität
The loan period of all borrowed media will be automatically extended by the University Library until further notice.
For the duration of the extended standby mode from May 4 no new reminder and overdraft fees will be charged.

Freely available electronic media are accessible to everyone, the licensed electronic media can be used by members of Chemnitz University of Technology outside the library via VPN.

Even during the extended standby mode, it is not possible to work in the library or use the PC and copying equipment.
All public events, training courses, workshops, guided tours and consultation appointments are still cancelled.

For 2020, the University Library was able to license additional databases and e-journal packages, as well as further expand the e-book offering.
In context of the nationwide DEAL negotations the University Library Chemnitz has only limited access to Elsevier journals since January 1, 2019.
If you would like to order journal articles from Elsevier, not beeing offered by the University Library Chemnitz, you can use the interlibrary loan service – the publisher field is mandatory.
You can find the interlibrary loan form in your library account.
For members of the TU Chemnitz, no additional costs arrise.
