Information on current library use and moving
From August 3 to September 18 2020 only the Central Library in the main building of the university, Straße der Nationen 62, is open Monday to Friday from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm.
It is possible to pick up pre-ordered books and inter-library loans and to return books.
From July 31 2020 at 2.00 pm the Campus Library I is closed forever, Currently is taking place the move of the open access holdings. Depending on the progress of the move, the library will try to make its holdings available. Borrowing will then be delayed in the Central Library.
From August 3 to August 20 2020, Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 15:00, a return box will still be available in front of the Campus Library I, Reichenhainer Straße 29a.
Orders must be placed via the order button of the online catalog.
You will receive information by e-mail when the media can be collected. Depending on the location of the book, it may take about two days.
Please note that the library move may cause longer waiting times for the orders.
Pickup is only possible if you observe the rules of hygiene (minimum distance and wearing of mouth/nose masks).
Books from the reading room collection can be borrowed for one week.
Requests are again possible as usual via the interlibrary loan form.
Loan periods of interlibrary loans lent before May 04 2020 will be extended by the University Library to a maximum of June 02 2020.
Interlibrary loans that were available for collection but could no longer be borrowed before the closing of the library are no longer available. If you need them, please send an information to email@example.com. The library will reorder the interlibrary loan again. There are no new costs.

Reservations will be available for collection in the Central Library in the main building of the university, Straße der Nationen 62 for seven days until September 18 2020.
Media can still be returned in the return box in front of the CampusBibliothek I, Reichenhainer Straße 29a, from Monday to Friday between 8.00 am to 13 pm until August 21 2020.
From August 3 to September 21 2020, Monday to Friday between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm a return is possible in the boxes in front of the Central Library in the main building of the university, Straße der Nationen 62.
Reserved media can also be returned via this return box.

The loan period of all borrowed media will be automatically extended by the University Library until further notice.
For the duration of the extended standby mode from May 4 no new reminder and overdraft fees will be charged.
Fees can be paid during indicated opening hours in the Central Library in the main building of the university, Straße der Nationen 62 from August 3 to September 21 2020 or transferred to the following account:

Freely available electronic media are accessible to everyone, the licensed electronic media can be used by members of Chemnitz University of Technology outside the library via VPN.

Also during the second stage of selective and limited presence operation it is not possible to work in the library and use the PC and copying technology.
All public events, training courses, workshops, guided tours and consultation appointments are still cancelled.

For 2020, the University Library was able to license additional databases and e-journal packages, as well as further expand the e-book offering.
In context of the nationwide DEAL negotations the University Library Chemnitz has only limited access to Elsevier journals since January 1, 2019.
If you would like to order journal articles from Elsevier, not beeing offered by the University Library Chemnitz, you can use the interlibrary loan service – the publisher field is mandatory.
You can find the interlibrary loan form in your library account.
For members of the TU Chemnitz, no additional costs arrise.
Please check if the University Library has licenced the article before ordering.
