Just do it! “Couleurs d’Erasmus” inspires students to study abroad

The vernissage „Couleurs d’Erasmus – Photo Reports by Erasmus Students“ impressively demonstrated on 30 June 2026 how enriching international mobility, foreign language learning and Franco-German exchange can be. Around 40 guests attended the presentation by Isoline Rossi as well as the subsequent panel discussion with Dr. Maria Worf (Managing Director of the Center for Foreign Languages at Chemnitz University of Technology), Dr. Andreas Rauch (Coordinator for French at the Center for Foreign Languages) and Dr. Wolfgang Lambrecht (Deputy Director of the University Library) on the opportunities and perspectives of European mobility as well as on study and life experiences in France.

The lively discussion made clear what kinds of experiences a stay abroad can offer: new perspectives, greater language confidence, personal development and encounters that reach far beyond one’s studies. One central message of the evening was formulated very clearly by students, the panel and the audience alike: anyone who has the opportunity to go abroad should give it a try. Or, in short: just do it!
The evening highlighted the contribution that foreign languages and international mobility make to personal and academic development. At the same time, the exhibition showed how diverse Erasmus experiences can be and how strongly they encourage students to take the step into another country, another language and another university culture.
