Welcome to Orientation Week

General Information

Our Orientation Week is designed especially for first-year students of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology to help you get started with your studies.

• Registration & Participation Fee

  We need binding registration numbers in advance to plan catering and materials. Please register on time - you'll find the link at the top of this page.

  Please bring €15 in cash with you. It will be collected before the introductory event (during registration).

  A Sparkasse ATM is located in the entrance area of the cafeteria. (Link)

• Catering

  At our on-campus events, we provide drinks (soft drinks & alcohol). Dinner will be served on Monday and Tuesday. The price also includes the ticket for the student council barbecue on Wednesday.

• Check email regularly

  Please check the email address you provided during registration regularly. Important information and programme updates will be sent there.

  If you are using your university email account, log in using your URZ username and URZ password.

• Deutschland-Ticket

  Important: For some program points we will be travelling together by public transport, so be sure to activate before the Orientation Week!

  During ticket inspections, an ID document (passport/ID card) may also be required - please always carry it with you.

• Public transport to university

  For Orientation Week, use the "TU Campus" stop. Tram line 3 (CVAG), the C13, C14 and C15 (DB), as well as bus routes 53, 73 and 82 all stop there.

• Don't forget your TUC card

  During Orientation Week, we will have lunch together in the university canteen (Mensa) (menu). If you would like to join us, please bring around €10 in cash (preferably in banknotes) so that you can top up your TUC card on site.

  Important: The TUC card is not valid as a public transport ticket!

• Soldering Workshop

  You will solder your own electronic dice – no prior experience required, instructions and assistance will be provided on site.

• O-Party

  The central freshmen's party organized across all student councils! Tickets are available in advance and possibly at the box office.

• Weatherproof clothing:

  Please note that many program items take place outdoors. Therefore, make sure you wear clothing suitable for the weather.

About us

We are the Faculty Student Council of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (FSR ET/IT) - students from higher semesters who want to help you get started with your studies.

Orientation Week is organised by us on a voluntary basis - alongside our own studies and in our free time. This means we do our best to make everything run smoothly, but sometimes things may be spontaneous or not go exactly as planned.

Important for you:

• You can contact us at any time if you have questions or problems
• We will be available on site throughout Orientation Week
• You can usually recognise us by our T-shirts / name tags

Our goal is not perfection, but that you:

• get to know people
• quickly find your way around
• have a good start to your studies
