University Committees
The Technical University of Chemnitz has several officially established bodies that deal with matters concerning both the university and its students. As the Student Council, we represent the interests of students in selected committees and actively work towards improving the quality of teaching and fostering a student-friendly learning environment. If you would like an overview of all governing bodies, committees, representatives, and delegates at TU Chemnitz, please click on this link.
Here you can find information about the committees in which we are represented and an overview of our current representatives.
University Student Council (StuRa)
What the Faculty Student Council is for the faculty EE/IT, the StuRa is for the entire student body. Among other responsibilities, it advocates for better learning conditions, promotes student culture on campus, and negotiates the Student Year Ticket for you.

Faculty Council
All important decisions for the faculty are made democratically in the Faculty Council. Among many other things, the elected professors, staff, and students decide on the specific design of study programmes and the appointment of new professors. The Faculty Council usually meets once a month.

Study Committees
The study committees primarily serve an advisory role. Their goal is to ensure a meaningful organization and proper implementation of the teaching process. This includes, in particular, the development of changes to the study and examination regulations. The new regulations elaborated in the commission are then proposed to the Faculty Council.

Examination Boards
The Examination Boards, composed of university staff and students, ensure compliance with the provisions of the examination regulations. They serve as the highest decision-making body for all examination matters related to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology.
In particular, the Examination Board processes applications for the recognition of examination and study achievements, as well as applications for the second repetition of an examination.

Student Initiatives at TUC
In addition to us, there are numerous student initiatives in which you can get involved. These initiatives often organize events near the university, providing opportunities to get to know their members. Keep an eye out for their flyers in the cafeteria to learn more ;)
Especially for students in electrical engineering, the following initiatives are interesting:
- TUC Racing e.V.
- Fortis Saxonia e.V.*
The complete list of recognized student initiatives can be found here.
*Note: Fortis Saxonia e.V. is currently not active.
