Christmas Lecture of the Faculty of Mathematics
The Faculty of Mathematics invites you to this year’s Christmas lecture (Held in German). Under the title „Weihnachtliche Strömungen: wenn Mathematik ins Fließen kommt“, Prof Dr Fleurianne Bertrand will give a talk on mathematical phenomena related to flows.
The event will take place on Wednesday, 17 December 2025, at 17:15 in lecture hall C10.114 of the Central Lecture and Seminar Building.
IUZ Info Events on Studying Abroad
The International Office (IUZ) of Chemnitz University of Technology is again offering a range of information events in the winter semester 2025/26 on studying and internships abroad, Erasmus+, and funding opportunities.
You can find all dates on the flyer and the IUZ website. A highlight is the International Day on November 4, 2025 starting at 1:45 p.m. in lecture hall C10.113 (“Orangerie”), featuring student experiences, scholarship information, and presentations from partner universities.
Further sessions cover topics such as worldwide study abroad programs, Erasmus+ funding, and organizational guidance. All events take place in the Central Lecture and Seminar Building, Reichenhainer Str. 90, Room C10.113 (formerly 2/N113).

Stories of the Chemnitz Kindertransports 1938–1940
In the winter semester 2025/26, as part of the TUCAcademy, a block seminar will take place in preparation for the Year of Jewish Culture in Saxony 2026. The seminar focuses on children from Chemnitz who were rescued from Nazi Germany between December 1938 and summer 1940 through the Kindertransport programme.
Participants will independently research and present the biography of one of these children. The seminar includes an introduction to archival research and a visit to the Chemnitz City Archive. The results will form part of a hybrid exhibition, which will be published on the “Tacheles” project website and displayed on roll-ups at the Diversity Day of Chemnitz University of Technology in May 2026.

ASA Scholarship for Projects in Renewable Energy
The ASA programme has opened its new application round. From 1 December 2025 to 20 January 2026, students and young professionals aged 21 to 30 can apply for over 100 international project placements. Several projects focus on renewable energy.
Examples include:
– India: Expanding rural renewable energy supply through microgrids
– Kyrgyzstan: Promoting sustainability in local agricultural communities
– Colombia: Developing agrivoltaic systems for a clean energy future
– Namibia: Researching green hydrogen and sharing knowledge
The programme consists of a three- to six-month project phase in countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and South-Eastern Europe, along with preparatory and follow-up seminars. A total of 280 scholarships are awarded each year.

Funded Exchange Semester in Taiwan and Internship at TSMC during Winter Semester 2026/27
The Semiconductor Talent Incubation Program (STIPT) offers students the opportunity to gain unique insights into state-of-the-art production and research in Taiwan’s semiconductor industry. The program includes a four-month course program at a Taiwanese university followed by a two-month internship at TSMC, a world-leading company in the semiconductor sector.
Funding:
€700 per month as a subsidy towards living costs
€1,500 as a subsidy towards travel costs

Festo Experience Centre
Experience the world of automation and energy engineering up close. On 11 December 2025, we warmly invite all students of Automation and Energy Engineering to visit the Festo Experience Centre in Chemnitz. From 08:30 to 15:00, an engaging programme awaits you, including specialist presentations, live demonstrations, and insights into tomorrow’s technologies. Take the opportunity to connect theory and practice and learn directly from experienced experts.

SWM Robotics Live Stream: Jobs & Theses
Stadtwerke München are offering insights into their robotics project featuring Spot, the robot dog by Boston Dynamics, through a live stream. Students can learn more about well-paid working student positions (EUR 20.42/h) and fully funded thesis opportunities (EUR 1,000/month) in robotics, sensor technology, automation and digital inspection.
The live stream allows participants to gain a direct look behind the scenes, assess potential opportunities and ask questions about possible tasks or thesis topics.

Electronic Elections at Chemnitz University of Technology – Every Vote Counts
The electronic elections at Chemnitz University of Technology will take place between 20 November 2025, 12:00, and 27 November 2025, 12:00. Students will elect their representatives for the Senate, the Extended Senate, the Faculty Councils, and additional committees and deputy positions.
The online voting system is accessible during this period via the following link:

Important: Access to the voting system is only possible from within the university network. Please use Eduroam on campus or connect from outside via the TU Chemnitz VPN.
Log in with your TUC user ID and password. After logging in, select “Stimme jetzt abgeben” (“Cast your vote now”) to enter the online system. Please ensure that you are unobserved while voting to maintain confidentiality.

Future of Medical Technology in Chemnitz and Southwest Saxony
The two-day event “Future of Medical Technology in Chemnitz and Southwest Saxony” will take place on November 13 and 14, 2025. Organized by Buntspeicher, Chemnitz University of Technology and MEC-ABC GmbH, the event aims to connect companies, researchers, and students, and to provide practical impulses for the development and application of medical technology in the region.

The first day includes the presentation of the Health Campus Chemnitz and two workshops led by Michael Kaiser (Biosaxony e.V.) and Dr. Nadine Leistner (MEC-Academy). Topics include manufacturing requirements and opportunities in medical technology, the path from research idea to marketable product, and relevant legal aspects. Students of Medical Engineering can gain early practical insights. The session concludes with insights from Julia Garn (imk Health Intelligence GmbH).

The second day focuses on companies from the Erzgebirge region. The program features keynote talks, workshops, and networking. Additional topics include digital patient pathways, innovative care in rural areas, and research transfer.

Meet the Student Council
On 5 November 2025, from 17:00 to 20:00, the ET/IT Student Council will host a get-together in Room C25.185.
This event is a great opportunity to meet the current members of the ET/IT Student Council, learn more about our work and projects, and share your own ideas. Even if you are not a member yet, you can find out how to become one or how to support the council in other ways.

Open Access Week und Open Science Day 2025
From October 20 to 26, 2025, the International Open Access Week will take place. Chemnitz University of Technology will host various events focusing on Open Science.

A highlight of the week will be the Open Science Day titled “Who Owns Knowledge?
