Quantenphysik meets Fahrradkino

On September 10, 2025, at 7:00 pm, Fraunhofer ENAS together with Fahrradkino Chemnitz e.V. invites you to a special movie night. The film „Schilf – Alles, was denkbar ist, existiert“ will be shown as part of the “International Year of Quantum Science and Technology.”

The highlight: The movie is powered entirely by the audience, who pedal together to generate eco-friendly energy.

Please note: The movie will be shown in German.

Digital Career Fair Renewable Energies (KEE)

Würth Elektronik invites students to the workshop “Capacitors – underrated but indispensable” at the Berlin site.

Panel Discussion “Industry in Transition – Paths, Visions, Limits”

On Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., the panel discussion “Industry in Transition – Paths, Visions, Limits” will take place at the Industrial Museum Chemnitz. The event is part of the special exhibition “Tales of Transformation” and organized in cooperation with Industrieverein Sachsen 1828 e.V.

Note

The discussion will be held in German.

Representatives from industry, academia, and the start-up scene will engage in dialogue with citizens about industrial transformation – from electromobility and sustainable materials to the promotion of young companies. The discussion will address opportunities, challenges, and both regional and national perspectives.

  • Christian Sommer (Head of Corporate Communications & Public Affairs, Volkswagen Sachsen GmbH)

Preparatory course in electrical engineering

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology offers a two-week preparatory course in September for first-year students in the faculty's bachelor's degree programs.

What to expect:

  • An overview of your studies and future professional field
  • Review and consolidation of essential fundamentals in:
    • Mathematics
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Computer Science
    • Physics
  • Refreshing your high school knowledge to ensure an optimal start to your studies

Afternoon program:

  • Insights into various fields:
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Information Technology
    • Biomedical Engineering

The course will be conducted in German.

Reminder: Election of student representatives

We would like to remind you of the elections for the student representatives of your department (Fachschaftsrat) at Technische Universität Chemnitz. The elections will take place as follows:

  • Monday, Dec 9, 2024: Room 1/367, Straße der Nationen 62, from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm
  • Tuesday, Dec 10, 2024: Room 2/N001 (C10.001) (ZHSG), Reichenhainer Straße 90, from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm
  • Wednesday, Dec 11, 2024: Room 2/N001 (C10.001) (ZHSG), Reichenhainer Straße 90, from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm

Please bring a valid identification (e. g., student ID card) to the elections. If possible, also bring a pen with you.

Voting - Every Vote Counts

From 2024-11-25 to 2024-11-28, the following elections will take place at Chemnitz University of Technology:

  • Election of directly elected representatives to the Senate, the Extended Senate, the Faculty Councils, as well as elections for the Equal Opportunity Officers of the Faculties and Central Institutions and their deputies
  • Election of directly elected representatives from the group of students to the Extended Board of the Center for Teacher Training and Educational Research
  • By-election of the Equal Opportunity Officer of the Center for Teacher Training and Educational Research and their deputies for the current term

All eligible voters at Chemnitz University of Technology are invited to participate in the elections.

Who is eligible to vote? Eligible voters include all members of Chemnitz University of Technology (students, professors, academic, and non-academic staff) who are listed in the voter registry.

Voting is possible at the following locations and dates:

  • 2024-11-25: Straße der Nationen 62, Altes Heizhaus
  • 2024-11-26: Wilhelm-Raabe-Straße 43, Room B01.105
