Academic Issues

Internships

If you are a Master or doctoral student, having interest in a research internship at Research Center MAIN of variable duration (usually between 2 and 6 months) and have prospects for your own funding (e.g. through ERASMUS+ scheme) please gather information on possible research themes from the research profiles of the MAIN members and the available MAIN Major Research Equipment. Send your initiative application (outlining a one-page CV, a list of research skills you already provide and skills and research interests you would like to expand) to the MAIN Research Administration with the aim to identify a perfect match with current MAIN research activities. We will look into this and give feedback. If we find a match, we will easily arrange informal phone or web interviews to discuss opportunities. In case you do not have (yet) prospects for own funding, please refrain from send lengthy and/or bulky documents in an unsolicited manner but rather consult

before. Having checked these options, you are welcome to inquire with the MAIN Research Administration for informal counselling about opportunities at Research Center MAIN.

Academic Theses and Research Projects

The MAIN members are offering interdicipilinary academic thesis and research projects at several parts of the forefront of science and technology. A selection of open topics are listed below. The list is indicative only (as of January 2023, no liability), please also check the research profiles of the MAIN members and/or their individual home pages. You are welcome to inquire with the MAIN Research Administration for individual counselling.
