Language compositions by Ellen Fricke (1998/2025) for solo female voices and choir in all European languages. Concerts and concert installations with human and AI performers (tablets on stands with ChatGPT-4o Voice) as a result of the Babelmanufaktur.
The Babel Cycle, originating in Chemnitz and Nova Gorica in 2025, is also designed for future European Capital of Culture constellations. It ends once the AI performer for every European language has been replaced by a human performer. Dedicated to Peter Ablinger (1959–2025).

Babelmanufaktur
The original core idea behind "Babel 1" for human performers is: to hear language in speech. The new core idea for AI performers is: to hear the language model and its limits in speech. In the Babelmanufaktur, alongside automated support for score production and the generation of vocal sound layers, the opportunities and risks of the current automation of intellectual work for creative processes are reflected upon. The results of the Manufaktur are documented on a media-art website, where visitors can "compose" layerings of any complexity themselves (Soundscapes of Europe).
