Master Management & Organisation Studies
Semester abroad

Cooperation and abroad

It is important to us that you as a student have the opportunity to spend a semester abroad, even within the structured and relatively tight time frame of a four-semester Master's programme. Therefore, a semester abroad is regularly scheduled in the third semester of the Master's programme "Management & Organisation Studies". The advantages are obvious:

  1. You have the opportunity to "think outside the box" and get to know a new culture, test yourself, develop or expand new language skills.
  2. You get to know how teaching and learning is done at another university in another country.
  3. You can expand the knowledge acquired in the first two semesters, enrich it with foreign impressions and thus achieve greater diversity than a single university can offer you, because in other countries other theoretical and research currents are also studied in depth.

Our partner universities are chosen in such a way that you can deepen at least one or two of the module areas that you started in the second semester in Chemnitz. It follows that you should choose your host university carefully based on your own areas of interest.

If, for example, you were particularly enthusiastic about the module area "organisational theory" in the second semester, it may make sense to choose a university that is particularly strong in this area in order to then write a thesis on this topic area in the fourth semester, after returning to Chemnitz, possibly even with an international focus?
