Successful participation in the ZVO Surface Days 2022
Part 2: Lectures from the WOT professorship
With 515 participants, almost 90 specialist presentations, stands from 65 exhibitors and overwhelmingly positive feedback, the ZVO annual congress more than fulfilled expectations. As the largest event for electroplating and surface technology in Germany, the congress once again took place - as usual and as proven - in the Congress Centre Leipzig.
6 Successful contributions
The Chair of Materials and Surface Technology (WOT) once again took an active part in the Surface Days. In the session „Results from research: Young colleagues report“, Axel Dittes presented and discussed the latest findings on the direct electroplating of additively processed, electrically conductive polypropylene. Stephan Schwöbel also presented the potential and challenges of mathematical modelling in electroplating to an interested audience. Lars Lehmann presented the latest research results on REACH-compliant galvanic gold(I) deposition to the specialist audience. In the session on „Chromium(VI): What happens now?“ Dominik Höhlich spoke about electrodeposited Fe-Cr-Ni alloys and later about functionalised carbon fibres with magnetic Fe-Co alloy layers in the session on functional layers. The series was completed by Roy Morgenstern, who presented new strategies for localised anodic oxidation in the session on wear protection.
The professorship's contributions met with a great deal of interest on site and were discussed intensively. In the subsequent discussion with the company representatives present, it was possible to identify overlaps in terms of content and evaluate opportunities for cooperation.
