Working hours
Families with two working adults and single parents, who may have to care for not only children but also elderly relatives, are particularly interested in adapting their working hours to the needs of their families.
For this reason, Chemnitz University of Technology signed a service agreement on working time regulations between Chemnitz University of Technology, represented by the Chancellor, and the staff council of Chemnitz University of Technology, represented by its chairperson, back in 2002. The agreement stipulates that the working time of employees at Chemnitz University of Technology is 40 hours per week, with the possibility of working longer hours on a voluntary basis.
The scope covers all employment groups at Chemnitz University of Technology (PDF). Working hours are therefore flexible and, within the framework of a fixed flexitime system, employees can determine the start and end of their daily working hours themselves.
In addition, another service agreement regulates the shutdown of operations during the annual turn of the year. (PDF).
