First Steps into Career Start with Good Education

On 1 September 2020, seven new trainees were welcomed at Chemnitz University of Technology

One media technologist, three electronics technicians for devices and systems and three office management assistants started their vocational training at Chemnitz University of Technology on 1 September 2020. This means that a total of 35 men and women are currently undergoing vocational training at Chemnitz University of Technology. The new trainees got to know the university on the first day of training during an introduction. The program included guided tours of two parts of the university, visits to training workshops, and discussions with the youth and trainee representatives.

"In the following three or three and a half years, respectively, the young people at Chemnitz University of Technology receive solid practical vocational training in the very well-equipped and modern training workshop of the Faculties of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and in the administrative areas," says Miriam Fellechner from the University's Personnel Department. The dual technical vocational training is supplemented by two to three-week theoretical vocational school blocks at Chemnitz Industrial School and the Gutenberg School in Leipzig. In the role of Management Assistant for Office Management, the trainees’ theoretical training takes place on two days per week at the Vocational School Center for Economy I in Chemnitz, and is supplemented by so-called on-duty instruction at the Bobritzsch Training Center.
