Short curriculum vitae

I studied English and American Studies at Chemnitz University of Technology from October 2009 to October 2012 and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. From August 2011 to February 2012, I spent a semester abroad at the California State University of Fullerton. In November 2012, I enrolled for a Master of Arts degree (English and American Studies) and graduated in July 2015. During my master studies, I taught English and German Communication classes to Chinese Bachelor students and prepared eight Master students for their semester abroad in Chemnitz as part of an internship at the Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou/Zhuhai, China in 2013. I furthermore taught the Applied Linguistics tutorial at the English Department of Chemnitz University of Technology in the winter semester 2014/ 2015. Since May 2014, I have been working as a research assistant for Prof. Dr. Schmied at the English Department. I speak English fluently and a little Chinese.

Research interests

My interests stretch across areas in corpus linguistics, applied linguistics, discourse analysis, academic writing, cultural studies and TESOL. My PhD research focuses on the metalanguage of Chinese academic writings.
