| Search for existing reviews that have already been done on the topic in order to find out more about the state of research in your research area and avoid duplication. Use interdisciplinary databases such as Web of Science or Scopus, for example, and filter for the document type "Review Article" respectively "Review". | |
| Use a framework such CIMO, PICO oder SPIDER to determine the scope of your question. | |
| Develop (a) clear, meaningful research questition(s) with an appropriate scope. | |
