Agreement on compliance with the “Rahmenkodex” signed

Prof. Gerd Strohmeier, President of Chemnitz University of Technology, and the chairman of the staff council, Thomas Raschke, signed an agreement on compliance with the “Rahmenkodex über den Umgang mit befristeter Beschäftigung und die Förderung von Karriereperspektiven an den Hochschulen im Freitstaat Sachsen”. The „Rahmenkodex“ deals with aspects of fixed-term employment and is meant to advance career perspectives at higher education institutions in the Free State of Saxony. The two parties agreed to comply with the rules of the “Rahmenkodex” when signing contracts of employees of Chemnitz University.

The agreement lasts until July 31st, 2018. Simultaneously, Chemnitz University will establish a task force consisting of representatives of the President’s Office, the Department of Human Resources, and the Staff council to work out the contents of a binding regulation, which will become valid as of this date.

The signing of the agreement is a precondition to receive continued funding from the program “Gute Lehre – starke Mitte” of the Free State of Saxony in the amount of approx. 1 million euros.
