Free quick tests for students and employees

Testing facilities are available in the lecture hall building and in the Böttcher Building – For tests under supervision before the start of a lecture, teachers can order quick tests internally at Chemnitz University of Technology

If students are required to provide proof of testing in order to participate in lectures, Chemnitz University of Technology recognizes tests that are performed either by medically trained personnel - i.e. a recognized testing center or a test provider - or under supervision at Chemnitz University of Technology. In both cases, the rapid antigen test must not have been performed more than 24 hours before the start of the course. PCR tests are valid for 48 hours from the time of sample collection.

Currently, there is also a testing facility in the central lecture and seminar building of the TU. It is available at the following times - starting October 11, 2021: Monday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm as well as Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm in room N002. There is no cost to University students and employees if they wish to take advantage of this opportunity. An external test provider (PNB Pandemic Solutions GmbH) will perform the rapid tests. Medically trained personnel will take a nasopharyngeal swab. The TUC card must be kept ready for testing. The offer is initially planned until December 16, 2021 at the latest and can be taken advantage of during opening hours without prior appointment. Interested parties can gain access via the right-hand entrance to the lecture hall building. Due to the central access control that has been in place since October 11, it is essential to follow the signs on site. Those tested will receive their test results within 15 minutes. A certificate is available in writing directly on site or via e-mail. In addition, the antigen rapid test result can also be accessed via the Corona-Warn-App, for which a Rapid Test Profile should be created in the app.

Prior to testing, interested parties will be informed by the test provider about the test procedure, any risks and the further procedure in the event of a positive test result. In the event of a positive test result, a member of the test team will forward the personal data of the person concerned, including the test result, directly to the Health Department of the City of Chemnitz and inform the person concerned of the obligation to immediately isolate him/herself at home and to undergo a PCR test within 24 hours.

Furthermore, also starting on October 11, the possibility to carry out self-tests under supervision of the Staff Office for Occupational Safety and Environmental Protection of the TU will be offered in the university part Straße der Nationen, room 208, every Monday and Friday 7:00 to 9:00 am.

To conduct tests under supervision before the start of a course, teachers can also order quick tests internally and thus obtain them free of charge through the University and hand them out to students.

“NASOCHECKcomfort” self-tests are available for students. Teachers should acknowledge the appropriate form, which is for TU internal use only, when administering the tests under supervision. Students who attend several lectures in one day, for example, do not have to be tested again before the start of each individual lecture and thus several times on the same day. It is not permissible for students to carry out the tests at home, i.e. without supervision at the Chemnitz University of Technology.

For students, the procedure regarding the performance of self-tests under supervision can also be read here.

Note: After the closure of the vaccination centers, there is now the possibility for students and employees of the Chemnitz University of Technology as well as citizens to get vaccinated in the cafeteria on the campus Reichenhainer Straße of the Chemnitz University of Technology.
