The University of La Laguna (ULL) is located on Tenerife, the largest of the seven Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean. It is the oldest and most populous university in the Canary Islands. The history of ULL dates back to 1701 when it was founded by Augustinian monks as a center for higher education. The Faculty of Political Science is situated on the Guajara Campus, in the heart of the city. In the regular evaluations conducted by the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA), ULL received top marks in 2010.
The university emphasizes innovation, creativity, entrepreneurship, and knowledge transfer. ULL is also known for its strong scholarship and student support policies.
Beyond academics, the university offers a rich cultural life. Students can join various groups, enjoy exhibitions by regional artists, attend concerts, or watch films on campus. Additionally, ULL awards an annual Cultural Prize in ten different categories, promoting artistic creativity and social values within the university and the broader community.
