Internship at the Saraswati Mandala School Project in Bondalem, Bali, Indonesia


The Saraswati Mandala School Project in the village of Bondalem, Northern Bali offers additional lessons to students aged 8 to 18. Unlike other village schools, the classes at Saraswati Mandala School are taught in English only, while fusing both Balinese and Western styles of teaching. In addition to teaching English, the curriculum includes sports, gymnastics and dance. The school provides basic accommodation in the Teacher House – a typical Balinese village house in Bondalem –, which is home to volunteer teachers from around the world. Students from Chemnitz are invited to apply for internships at the Saraswati Mandala School Project with Prof. Dr. Cecile Sandten. The internship is open to all students in the Department and will be accredited by the Department upon the intern’s return. An application with the International Office (IUZ), Oliver Sachs, for a PROMOS-scholarship/stipend for travel expenses, is highly recommended.
