Mission Statement and Regulations
Mission Statement and Objectives
The objective of MeTech is to investigate the fundamental human-scientific, communication- and cultural-scientific, social-scientific, engineering-technological, economic, and natural-scientific conditions for successful interaction between humans and technical systems, as well as the properties and methods for implementing, evaluating, and innovatively extending such systems. The integrative and simultaneous consideration of humans and technology is expected to lead to a new level of innovation. By involving all eight faculties of TU Chemnitz, MeTech forms an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary interface between the faculties’ research priorities and the university’s core competencies.
Research Guidelines
MeTech is structured around three major research guidelines:
Foundations of Human–Technology Interaction: This includes the development of theories to explain, predict, and modify human–technology interaction and its contextual conditions, as well as the description of the interplay between human–technology interaction and human–human interaction at the individual, group, and societal levels.
Methods, Technologies, and Systems for Human–Technology Interaction:This covers the development of methods, technologies, and systems for predicting, simulating, modeling, and improving human–technology interaction
Theory–Practice Transfer: This involves integrating basic and applied research on human–technology systems and creating an innovation hub—a central point of transfer and support—to help organizations respond dynamically to digital challenges in human–technology interaction and enhance their competitiveness.
