InnoMat IWW e.V. successfully represented at company and university races
The runners from InnoMat IWW e.V. have put in some impressive sporting performances over the past few weeks.
At the 20th Chemnitz Company Run Chemnitz 3 September 2025, the men's team achieved an excellent 8th place. The women's team came 138th and InnoMat IWW e.V. came 27th in the mixed team competition. Maximilian Sieber's performance deserves a special mention: with a time of 17:04 minutes over the 4.7 kilometre course, he achieved a strong 16th place out of a total of 10,312 finishers.
The traditional adh university run on 20 September also saw a high level of commitment. After only three starters last year, 17 runners from Chemnitz University of Technology took part this time, including many members of InnoMat IWW e.V. They thus made a significant contribution to Chemnitz University of Technology's excellent 13th place in the university ranking. Thomas Lindner was particularly successful, coming 9th out of 838 participants in the "most kilometres per hour" category with 15.02 km in one hour.
The association is pleased about the continuously growing participation of its members and students in community sporting events and sees the results as an incentive for future competitions.
In addition to sporting successes, the InnoMat IWW e.V. – Innovative Materials Institute for Materials Science and Technology – primarily pursues scientific goals. It supports application-orientated research, promotes technology transfer to industry and is particularly dedicated to the topics of composite materials, materials and surface technology and materials science. An annual highlight is the IWW Day, which strengthens the exchange between science and practice. On 6 November 2025, the association invites its members to the annual general meeting with colloquium and closed conference.
