Content
The content of the module includes, among other things,
- the fundamentals and classification of data mining,
- a process model for conducting data mining projects, and
- selected methods and algorithms for pattern recognition and the generation of predictive models in a business context.
Qualification objectives
After successfully completing the module, students will have a basic understanding of how to conduct data mining projects, will be familiar with fundamental methods and will be able to select them in a targeted manner, initiate the necessary data preparation and critically assess the results.
Teaching formats
The teaching formats of the module are
- lecture: Data Mining (2 weekly teaching hours),
- tutorial: Data Mining (1 weekly teaching hour).
Language
The courses may be held in either German or English.
In the examination, the questions will be set in English. Students may complete the examination assessment in either German or English.
