Libraries are striving for making the multitude of published information particularly from science easily findable and accessible. However, academic publications may not be used arbitrarily for the own work. Research results may contain sensible individual data, for instance, or may be patent-protected. But above all, a copyright protection applies for nearly all current publications. For this reason, it is crucial to know how those publication may be used for the own research.
