Chemnitz University of Technology supports Saxony’s #GehWählen initiative and calls on students to exercise their voting rights

State elections will take place in Saxony on 1 September 2019. As a part of the #GeWählen (vote) initiative in Saxony, Chemnitz University of Technology is calling on students who claim their primary residence in Saxony to exercise their voting rights. Those who are not able to vote in person on 1 September will have the opportunity to vote by mail. Absentee ballots can be requested via the city, or the municipal body of the voters’ primary residence.

Background: #GeWählen initiative

An alliance of Student Unions in Saxony, the Saxony Regional Rectors’ Conference and the Conference of Student Bodies in Saxony supports the #GeWählen initiative. The alliance would like to make students aware of the election date of 1 September 2019 and call on them to exercise their right to vote.
