Game, set and match

The Chemnitz University canteen is all about the 14th Chemnitz Spielenacht (Game Night) on January 12, 2018

On Friday, January 12, 2018, the 14th Chemnitz Game Night will take place, beginning at 6 p.m. Young and old alike will meet in the canteen of Chemnitz University at Reichenhainer Straße 55 as every year. Coming early might save you a good spot. As usual, admission is free. A registration for the participation in tournaments is still possible until 7.30 p.m. that evening. The tournaments start at 8 p.m. The organizers are looking forward to an evening full of active participation, no matter if already experienced in game play or as beginner.

For the first time, this Game Night provides an Android App for the visitors, with which they can discover new games more easily and comprehensible. Aside from an extensive search function, games that were not available at the moment can be put on a bookmark list to easily find them later on when they are available again.

Over 450 games

New games such as the Game of the Year 2017 “kingdomino” or other award-winning games like “Magic Maze” or “Wettlauf nach El Dorado” can be found in the wide range of over 450 games. The participants of the tournaments can also win corresponding prizes. One of the tournament classics is “Siedler von Catan”.

Over 1,000 participants followed the invitation to play in a relaxing atmosphere at the previous events. The bar Ausgleich will provide snacks and drinks for little money. The Game Night is supported by the Deutsche Spielemuseum Chemnitz, the Studentenwerk Chemnitz-Zwickau, the Student_innenrat of Chemnitz University, as well as all student bodies of the faculties, the university Computer Center, and various game publishing companies.

Further information, the link to download the App, or to register as volunteer for the organization can be found at: www.spielenacht.de

Please bring your ID to lend out games for free.
