The day is musically accompanied by musicians from the TU Big Band on stage in front of the main lecture building. Boys and girls from the campus kindergarten “Krabbelkäfer” will have their big performance as well. For anyone who wants to expand their knowledge: the Chemistry Christmas lecture will take place parallel to the Christmas Market. Prof. Heinrich Lang and his team will show how hooked they are on their lecture’s motto “Fire and Flame for the Christmas Tree”.

Starting on December 10, 2017, the route of the new tram line 3 runs from Chemnitz Main Station, over university site “Straße der Nationen”, to the campus plaza at Reichenhainer Straße, and has its last stop at Technopark. The modernized infrastructure simultaneously upgrades the Reitbahnviertel and the University campus, for example with the greening of the train tracks and tree plantation. With the tram lines C13, C14, and C15, the regions Hainichen, Mittweida, and Burgstädt are now connected to the auditorium building of the Chemnitz University non-stop. Additionally, the ring bus line 82 connects the university campus with the Südbahnhof, Kaßberg, Schloßchemnitz, the SACHSEN-ALLEE, the CFC arena, Sonnenberg, and Lutherviertel.
