Running for the university
Chemnitz University of Technology has the chance to win the title of „most sportive company” in the WiC Company Run on September 6, 2017 – running enthusiasts can register until August 25, 2017

A brief look back: In the 11th WiC Company Run 143 runners participated for Chemnitz University. Some of them were easily detected by their running shirts.
In September 2017 it is time again: The Chemnitz economy runs. The starting signal for the 12th Chemnitz WiC Company Run will sound on September 6, 2017, at 6.30 p.m. And not only sporting top-performance but also creativity and team spirit is asked for. The interest for the Company Run increases year by year: 8.000 registrations from approx. 600 companies of the economic region Chemnitz are expected in 2017. The agency “Der Sportmacher”, by the way established by former sport students of Chemnitz University of Technology in 2005, is organizer of the event.
4.8 kilometers will be run. The this year optimized running course leads around the complete Schloßteich. Start and Finish line are the Hartmannplatz (across the Police Department Chemnitz in the Hartmannstraße). Once again, the best company runners in the categories of most creative company, most sportive company, fastest chef, fastest secretary, fastest apprentice, fastest women team, fastest men team, and fastest mixed team are wanted.
All students, employees, apprentices, trainees, alumni, friends, and supporters are invited to register themselves alone or to show their particularly fast, creative, huge, or just unique team. The Chemnitz University won from 2008 until 2011 four times in a row the trophy for “most sportive company” but had to surrender to the Klinikum Chemnitz (Chemnitz hospital) in the past years. Now the university has another chance to reclaim the title. Until August 25, 2017, last-minute runners can register online at for 19 euros per participant. Please consider that this is a two-step registration process: At first an account has to be created. Only afterwards the registration for the Company Run can take place. The registration data of your account creation will be directly imported and several participants can register under one account.
Runners for Chemnitz University are offered “speed massages”, free beverages, and other activities at the Future Truck booth at the Hartmannplatz. Furthermore, runners who want to fly the flag for the university can receive for the first time a free shirt with the university logo at the Unishop booth. This is offered as an incentive to participate in the Company Run.
On August 2nd, 2017, everyone interested in testing their skills can already join the “warm-up” of the WiC Company Run. The informal and relaxed preparation run will partly follow the original running course and starts at 6.30 p.m. at the Hartmannplatz.
