With Cap and Gown to the Graduation Ceremony

On July 9, 2022, the next graduation ceremony of Chemnitz University of Technology will take place - registration is possible online

Those who have successfully completed their studies, doctorate or habilitation at Chemnitz University of Technology by the summer semester of 2022 can look back on this on Saturday, July 9, 2022, when the next graduation ceremony takes place. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., all registered graduates will experience an unforgettable farewell together with their family and friends at the Chemnitz Theaterplatz (in case of bad weather in the neighboring St. Peter's Church). Admission begins at 10:00 am.

After the welcome by the president, Prof. Dr. Gerd Strohmeier, and a greeting by a representative of the city of Chemnitz, the program will focus on honoring all graduates. The event will be rounded off with a poetry slam by university graduate Antonin Fischer and short speeches by other alumni. After the obligatory group photo at the end of the graduation ceremony, there will be an opportunity to reminisce about the time spent studying together at the champagne reception at the Theaterplatz.

Registration for the graduation ceremony is online: https://www.tu-chemnitz.de/tu/veranstaltungen/graduiertenfeier/anmeldung.php. All graduates, doctoral and habilitation students have the opportunity to borrow a gown and cap for the ceremony. Participation in the ceremony is free of charge.

Welcome to TUCalumni

Graduates as well as those who have completed their doctorates and habilitations can continue to remain loyal to Chemnitz University of Technology - not only by pursuing further studies or taking advantage of the university's continuing education programs, but also by becoming members of the Society of Friends of Chemnitz University of Technology or via the university's alumni portal. Several thousand people have already registered in the database and use this network as a source of information about the university. Many also join the Xing group "Alumni TU Chemnitz" or follow the university on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter or in the two alumni groups, Xing group Alumni TU Chemnitz and LinkedIn TUCalumni.

The word "alumni", by the way, comes from Latin and is the plural of "alumnus" or "alumna", which translates as "student". TUCalumni includes all members of the university who were active as students or employees. This lifelong alumni network gives its members the opportunity to receive news from Chemnitz University of Technology, maintain existing contacts and make new ones.
