The 9-Euro-Ticket starts on June 1, 2022

The TUC-Card with the imprint "SS22 V STIK" is valid as a ticket for students of Chemnitz University of Technology from June to August 2022 - the difference between the Student Annual Ticket and the 9-Euro-Ticket will be reimbursed.

On June 1, 2022, the "9-Euro-Ticket" will be launched, with which you can use public transport throughout Germany for nine euros per month in June, July and August. This also applies to the Student Annual Ticket of Chemnitz University of Technology. Inexpensive from Chemnitz to the North Sea? That's no problem and for the summer vacation, no matter in which part of Germany, at least the travel costs do not stand in the way.

"We are very pleased that the policy has kept us students in mind this time and the reduced local transport ticket is also valid for all who have a semester ticket or similar," says Marius Hirschfeld, Head of the subdivision for transportation of the Student Council of Chemnitz University of Technology (StuRa). The TUC-Card with the imprint "SS22 V STIK" or the annual ticket replacement card, in each case together with an identity document, is valid as a ticket for students of Chemnitz University of Technology. This allows the use of regional trains, streetcars, buses, suburban trains, underground trains and city trains as well as some ferries throughout Germany.

According to Hirschfeld, a mammoth task for StuRa now is the proportional reimbursement of the difference between the Student Annual Ticket and the 9-Euro-Ticket. "Here we would like to thank the Student Service of Chemnitz University of Technology as well as the University Computer Center in particular, without whose support it would not have been possible to set up a viable digital solution for the implementation of more than 9,000 refunds in such a short time," says the Speaker for transportation of the Student Council.

It is expected that from June 15 until October 31, 2022, it will be possible to submit the account details for the refund of the difference. "About this the students will also be informed by e-mail," says Hirschfeld. All instructions on how to proceed are then available on the StuRa website at https://stura.cc/9-euro-ticket. The payment will be made by the end of the winter semester 2022/23.
