Professorship of International Relations
The department of International Relations explores structures and actors of the international system including the interdependences of national foreign policies, the correlation with internal political structures as well as the regional relations of several states, e.g. in Europe, the Middle East or the transatlantic relations. Besides national states, international as well as non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are scrutinized with regard to their different forms of transnational, intergovernmental and supranational cooperation. NATO as well as the European Union are of particular interest with their historical development, current functions and significance for Germany and Europe in the future.
