The University of Debrecen has its roots dating back to the 16th century, making it the oldest university in Hungary. The field of Political Science is part of the Faculty of Law and is housed in a newly constructed building on the Kassai Campus. The Social Sciences Library is located nearby and is a modern, well-equipped facility offering a wide range of political science books and journals.
The curriculum places a special emphasis on Hungarian law and Europe-specific topics. Accordingly, seminars are also offered in German and French.
On campus, students have access to the Cultural and Conference Center, which hosts film screenings, concerts, and exhibitions. Additionally, there is the German Cultural Forum , an important point of contact. It organizes, for example, German-language events in Debrecen. Moreover, students can enjoy various sports clubs, the Bowling Bar, as well as the university's own swimming pool.
