From July 7 to 10, 2025, experts from around the world gathered in Montreal, Canada, for the 6th International Conference on Light Materials – Science and Technology (LightMAT). The conference was held jointly with the 64th COM, a North American conference focused on metallurgy and materials science. In total, the event welcomed over 300 participants.

Dr. Maik Trautmann from the Group of Compoistes and Material Compounds (PVW) from Chemnitz University of Technology presented results from the ongoing IGF project "RePro-AMC" focusing on the use of recycled aluminum for the production of particle-reinforced aluminum matrix composites (AMCs). His presentation was titled: "Recycled aluminum foils for the powder metallurgical production of particle-reinforced aluminum matrix composites."

Special thanks go to the project partners and to the colleagues from IWW who contributed to the results, as well as to the IGF for financially supporting the project.
