One of the largest conferences in the field of materials development took place in Orlando/Florida from 3 to 7 March 2024. With more than 3500 participants from over 70 nations, the latest results from the field of materials technology were presented at TMS 2024. Professor Guntram Wagner and Dr. Maik Trautmann attended the conference and presented results from the IGF project RePro-AMC in the session: Powder Materials Processing and Fundamental Understanding. In the talk "Powder Extrusion of High-energy Ball-milled Particle-reinforced AlSi1MgMn for Lightweight Components", findings regarding the benefits of the design of experiments in the production of the particle-reinforced aluminum alloy AW-6082 were presented. With a focus on a resource-efficient process chain, a shock absorber component is being realized in the presented project together with the Fraunhofer IWU and the Chair of Vehicle System Design. In addition to the exchange with other scientists, there was an extensive industry exhibition on the latest technologies in materials testing and analysis.
