Dr hab. Magdalena Szechynska-Hebda, Prof. of Institute, and Dr hab. Marek Hebda, Prof. at Cracow University of Technology, are working as guest researchers at the Professorship of Composites and Material Compounds from 1st of February to 30th of April 2024. Magdalena Szechynska-Hebda, who holds a habilitation in biology, conducts research at the W. Szafer Institute of Botany in Poland on various topics including eco-composite materials. During her stay at PVW, she would like to gain insights into the field of new materials and try out research approaches at the interface between biology and material engineering. Marek Hebda from the Department of Materials Engineering at the Cracow University of Technology has been awarded a scholarship for a three-month research stay through the Visiting Scholar Program of Chemnitz University of Technology. He will be working in the Composites Group of Dr. Maik Trautmann, investigating the high-energy ball milling and sintering of steel and tungsten carbide. His research focuses on the powder metallurgy of metals and aspects of additive manufacturing of various materials.
