TUC meets CUT - International Research Visit

Aspiring PhD researchers Saravanan Palaniyappan and Shimelis Bihon Gasha from the Professorship of Composites and Material Compounds (PVW), recently participated in a research visit to Cracow, Poland as part of the PROM 2023 program, which aims to foster research collaboration and knowledge sharing across institutions in the European Union and beyond. PROM 2023 brought the researchers to the Faculty of Materials Science and Physics at Cracow University of Technology (CUT) and the company ATMAT Sp.o.o.

During their week-long visit, Palaniyappan and Gasha engaged in discussions with faculty members and PhD students at CUT to learn about ongoing research projects and explore potential areas of collaboration. They also toured CUT´s laboratory facilities to gain hands-on experience with Binder Jetting additive manufacturing technology. The researchers also visited the company ATMAT Sp.o.o., where they learned about their work in 3D-printing and their commitment to sustainability and innovation by using Fused Deposition Modeling.

The two PVW researchers expressed their gratitude for their hospitality and the opportunity to collaborate with their counterparts in Cracow. Together, an outline for the M-ERANET Call 2023 is already being planned, which is intended to lay the foundation for a long-term research partnership. The visit was a success, highlighting the value of international collaboration in advancing research and technology.
