Mr. Gautham Sriranganathan defended his master´s thesis titled “Precipitation hardening of high-energy ball milled AA2017/SiCp composites produced by spark plasma sintering“ on January 31, 2023. The Indian-born student from the Advanced Functional Materials program investigated the influence of powder metallurgy production of high-energy ball-milled particle-reinforced Al alloy powders on the downstream precipitation hardening of these materials. The work was supervised by Prof. Guntram Wagner, Dr.-Ing. Maik Trautmann and M.Sc. Shimelis Bihon and is part of the research focus on metal matrix composites (MMCs) of the professorship. Mr. Gautham Sriranganathan will take up a full-time position in the automotive industry. We wish him all the best for his professional future.
