Continuous CVD coating

On 27th September 2022, Mr. Parikshith Gowda Kabbare Ramalingaiah successfully defended his Master thesis entitled „Optimization and fabrication of yttrium oxide coating around tungsten fibers by a continuous chemical vapor deposition process“ and thus completed his Master studies in Advanced Functional Materials at TU Chemnitz. The thesis was supervised by Prof. Guntram Wagner, Dr.-Ing. Maik Trautmann and M.Sc. Saravanan Palaniyappan and this thesis is an integral part of the research focusing on interfacial coating technology
Mr. Ramalingaiah, born in India, has been supporting the Professorship of Composites and Material Compounds since August 2019, with his research project contributions in the field of discontinuous CVD coatings. Since May 2021 he has been researching his master thesis in an innovative field of developing and optimizing a continuous CVD system to achieve a roll-to-roll yttrium oxide coating on tungsten fibers. He leaves the team at the end of September 2022 to start a full-time position in the semiconductor fabrication industry.
