DFG Research Training Group Crossworlds - "Connecting virtual and real social worlds"

The opening up and intelligent interconnection of systems, the promotion and provision of openly accessible educational resources, and the ease of locating teaching and learning materials are just a few of the topics currently being discussed in politics, society, and—in particular—the higher education landscape. With regard to the e-learning systems available in Saxony, the question arises as to how these must evolve to meet future, changing needs. The SIBIS project aims to address these issues from the perspective of Saxony's higher education institutions. Based on both existing and anticipated usage scenarios and requirements, the project seeks to design the future technical infrastructure for the e-learning portfolio of Saxon higher education institutions, as well as the migration steps toward this new, more open infrastructure.
