„O-Phase“ Makes Ready for Studies

Orientation phase from October 5-9, 2026 assists first-year-students at Chemnitz University of Technology in starting their studies by various events and information opportunities

A successful start in the studies is crucial for successful studies. In order to facilitate the start of studies for the first-year-students at Chemnitz University of Technology, an introduction week will happen from October 5 to 9, 2026. In this context, students are offered various opportunities within the orientation phase (abbreviated: “O-Phase”). Thus, the newly enrolled students get insights in their respective degree program, they may i.a. on the occasion of parties, get into first contacts with their fellow students and explore the campus, many institutions of the University and the City in various manners. For participation in the events, prior registration is mandatory – this may be done on the websites of the respective student bodies, central institutions or faculties. Another opportunity for orientation in the start of studies is offered by the brochure “Start of Studies at Chemnitz University of Technology”. This guide, tailored on the demands of first-year-students, contains relevant information for an easy start of studies. The guide includes i.a. a checklist, important contact information of various institutions of the University, consultancy offers, information on the student-ID-card as well as regarding the Germany Semester Ticket and the Culture Ticket, hints for the compilation of course plans, location maps as well as many useful links.

For students coming from abroad to Chemnitz University of Technology, the International Office offers a special Buddy-Program. 

By the way: The extended period for enrolment in admission-free degree programs (i.a. for spontaneous study seekers and university shifters) runs still until October 31, 2026.
