Cognitive Modeling (Winter Semester 2025/26)

Contents: Knowledge about the function of cognitive processes in areas such as memory, perception, thinking, decision-making, and language will be conveyed, and their implementation in cognitive architectures such as ACT-R or other modeling paradigms will be introduced. Methods for replicating experimental data and assessing the quality of cognitive modeling approaches will be discussed.

Learning Objectives: Students will develop a critical understanding of basic cognitive theories and how they can be implemented. They will be able to analyze cognitive tasks, model them using statistical, computational, and psychological methods, and question and further develop existing concepts.

Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of statistics is recommended.
