Incoming Student and Semester Kick-Off Ceremony Comes Again to the Hartmann Hall
The university administration invites members of the university community to join in the celebration of the start of the new academic year on 10 October 2019– registration is open until 8 October
The Chemnitz University of Technology Office of the President has issued an invitation to all students, staff, alumni, friends and partners of the university to join in the incoming student and semester kick-off ceremony that marks the start of Winter Semester 2019/2020. The ceremony will take place on 10 October 2019 at 17:00 at the Richard Hartmann Hall, located at Fabrikstraße 9. Doors will open at 15:30, so that there is enough time to browse the other offerings at the hall, such as student and campus organisations. There will also be external exhibitors who will provide information on topics such as health, leisure time and student accommodations.
After a greeting by Prof. Dr. Gerd Strohmeier, President of Chemnitz University of Technology, a wide-ranging programme will follow. In addition to a greeting from Ralph Burghart, Deputy Mayor for Education, Youth, Culture and Sports, and a greeting from the Student Council, there will be an exhibition by the Chemnitz Sports Ensemble. Among others, Maya Neubert, scientific fellow at the Professorship of Sports Equipment Technology, Marco Thomä, two-time world champion in the Cycling Trials and scientific fellow at the Professorship of Composites and Material Compounds, and Florian Bernhart, a current student at the university, will take part. In addition, Pater Kalinowski, co-founder of the Chemnitz-based NAVENTIK company, will take part in an interview about his current success. Adding to the festive atmosphere will be the Collegium musicum University Orchestra, the University Choir and the TU Big Band.
