Since spring 2014 Chemnitz University of Technology has been a meeting place for committed women from science, research and industry. At the Interdisciplinary Symposium for Women in STEM female students, scientists and managers exchange ideas on current topics and trends. Various network formats invite to generate knowledge, develop ideas and link new contacts. The 6th Interdisciplinary Symposium for Women in STEM will take place from 25 to 26 March 2019.

Prof. Dr. Olfa Kanoun, Head of the Professorship Measurement and Sensor Technology at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, and Karla Kebsch, Equal Opportunities Representative at Chemnitz University of Technology stand as initiators of the symposium. Once again they are putting together an exclusive programme in cooperation with the STEM scientists and employees of the Centre for Equality and Family.

In the course of the symposium specialists from different scientific fields will be holding presentations on interdisciplinary topics. Various workshops (including "Werkzeug Stimme", "Academic Publishing" and "Design Thinking") invite the participants to train their soft skills. The attendees will have an opportunity to communicate with the representatives of regional companies. The nationwide "ISINA Best Poster Award" is also arranged as a part of the symposium. In the center of the meeting lies the professional and interdisciplinary exchange as well as networking of women in STEM with the aim of establishing promising cooperation.
