After the open letter in reaction to last week's events, Chemnitz University of Technology is now also sending a clear signal for diversity and cosmopolitanism in Chemnitz with the video "Wir sind Chemnitz" ("We are Chemnitz"). Students and employees of Chemnitz University of Technology from all over the world have their say in the video. "They thus show a different image of our city than the one that has recently passed through the media worldwide," said President Prof. Dr. Gerd Strohmeier. "This is our contribution to make it clear that Chemnitz is neither grey nor brown," said the President in allusion to the comprehensive action of engaged Chemnitz citizens coming from all fields of society, economy and science (www.wedergraunochbraun.de). Along with the video there is now also an action T-shirt "#wirsindchemnitz".

"Science is virtually unthinkable without internationalisation. For this reason, in addition to our regional roots, we deliberately focus on the international orientation of our university," adds Prof. Dr. Maximilian Eibl, Vice-President for Academic and International Affairs. People from more than 90 nations study, conduct research and teach at Chemnitz University of Technology. With around 3,000 international students, which corresponds to a share of more than 25 percent, TU Chemnitz is the most international university in Saxony and one of the top international universities in Germany.
