New Professors Appointed at Chemnitz University

Three new professors were appointed by the President of Chemnitz University

Chemnitz University President Prof. Dr. Gerd Strohmeier appointed a new professor to the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, to the Department of Mechanical Engineering, as well as a new professor to the Department of Computer Science on April 1st, 2018.

About: Prof. Dr. Suleika Bort

On  April 1st, 2018, Prof. Dr. Suleika Bort jpined the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Chemnitz University as full professor for the chair of Organization and International Management. Previously she worked as post-doc at the Chair of SME Research and Entrepreneurship at the University of Mannheim.

After she had finished her studies of Business Administration at Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg and the University of Mannheim, Mrs. Bort wrote her P.D. thesis in Organizational Behavior at the University of Mannheim. From 2013 until 2014, Mrs. Bort had an interim professorship for Business Administration and Strategic Management at the University of Kaiserslautern. In 2017, Bort worked for seven months as lecturer at the University of Sydney, Australia. She received her Venia Legendi in the field of Business Administration after completing her Habilitation on “Advances in Alliance and Interorganizational Network Research” in 2017.

About: Prof. Dr. Alexander Hasse

Prof. Dr. Alexander Hasse chairs the Professorship of Machine Components and Product Design of the Department Mechanical Engineering since April 1st, 2018. Prior to that he chaired the Professorship Mechatronic Systems in Mechanical Engineering of Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg.

After the completion of his mechanical engineering studies at Technische Universität Dresden, Hasse worked as doctoral candidate and research assistant in the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Testing Research and at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH). In 2011 he finished his doctorate degree at ETH Zurich. Afterwards, in the framework of the Pioneer Fellowship Program of ETH Zurich, he worked as postdoc in the development of the by him co-founded ETH start-up Monolitix AG. He accompanied this project until 2014.

About: Prof. Dr. Alejandro Masrur

On April 1st 2018, Prof. Masrur took office at the Chair of Computer Architecture and Systems at the Department of Computer Science. Prior to this, he worked as an assistant professor in the field of software technology for embedded systems at the same department.
After graduating from electrical engineering at National Technological University in Mendoza (Argentina), he obtained his PhD in the field of information technology at TU Munich in 2010, where he also remained as a postdoctoral research assistant for few years. Finally, Prof. Masrur performed as a lecturer for one term, before joining TU Chemnitz as assistant professor in 2013.
