Premiere of the German-Israeli SME Day in Chemnitz

Strengthening of economic relations between Israel and Germany will be the focus from June 7 to 9, 2022 - Chemnitz University of Technology will participate in the program

The German-Israeli SME Day will be held for the first time in Chemnitz from June 7 to 9, 2022. Israel shares with Germany an innovative spirit of development, a broad corporate landscape and good funding opportunities. This event with companies from both countries is intended to show what potential lies in technological progress. Panels on mechanical and plant engineering, alternative drives and autonomous driving, and age tech will be complemented by an exchange on the start-up scene. These topics will be discussed with representatives from politics, business and research - including from Chemnitz University of Technology - at the Carlowitz Congress Center Chemnitz. Best practice examples and B2B meetings will follow.

Prof. Dr. Thomas von Unwerth, head of the Professorship of Advanced Powertrains at Chemnitz University of Technology and Chairman of the Board of HZwo e. V., will be taking part in a panel discussion on June 8 on the topic of potentials and success stories in technology exchange, digitalization and research. He will also give a keynote speech in the alternative drives/hydrogen panel. Prof. Dr. Martin Dix, head of the Professorship of Production Systems and Processes at Chemnitz University of Technology and Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Machine Tools and Forming Technology IWU, will also provide an introductory impulse with his presentation in the panel for mid-sized firms and mechanical engineering. On June 9, the program includes a visit to the Center for Materials, Architectures and Integration of Nanomembranes (MAIN) at Chemnitz University of Technology.

The City of Chemnitz, the C³ Chemnitzer Veranstaltungszentren GmbH, the Deutsch-Israelische Wirtschaftsvereinigung e. V. as well as the Enterprise Europe Network together with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chemnitz invite to the German-Israeli Mid-sized Business Day. The Prime Minister of Saxony, Michael Kretschmer, the Parliamentary State Secretary of the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport, Daniela Kluckert, the Mayor of Chemnitz, Sven Schulze, the President of the German Association of the Automotive Industry VDA, Hildegard Müller, as well as the Managing Director of the AHK Tel Aviv, Grisha Alroi-Arloser, have confirmed their active participation.
