Erasmus+ program - additional funding for more equal opportunities

The new program generation offers additional financial funding to students with 'fewer opportunities'

It is one of the core objectives of the new Erasmus+ program generation: to promote inclusion, diversity, equal opportunities and fairness in international mobility. To achieve this goal, the Erasmus+ program offers a wide range of extended opportunities for additional support for students who belong to the 'fewer opportunities' group of the program. For example, students with children, students with disabilities (GdB 20 or more) or chronic illnesses, students from non-academic families and, within certain limits, working students will be eligible for additional monthly funding of up to 250,- € for their Erasmus+ study or internship period starting in the winter semester of 2022/23.

Oliver Sachs, Erasmus Coordinator of the International Office of Chemnitz University of Technology is pleased about the increased funding options: "The new options for special funding are a great addition and expansion of the support within the framework of Erasmus+. This will make it easier for those students to spend time abroad during their studies who may not have previously planned such a stay for a variety of personal reasons." The expansion of Erasmus+ support goes hand in hand with an expansion of the International Office’s information and advisory services on this point. Interested students can find all information on possible special funding on the Erasmus+ website of the International Office under "Inclusion" (https://mytuc.org/fzmp).  At the same time, you are welcome to contact Oliver Sachs at the IUZ directly for personal advice.
