Chemnitz Physicist Organizes leading Conference for Computational Physics

Prof. Dr. Martin Weigel organizes the international conference on computational physics from August 2 to 5, 2021

The “IUPAP Conference on Computational Physics” is the agenda setting annual meeting in computational physics with several hundred participants from all over the world. This year it is held for the 32nd time, organized by Prof. Dr. Martin Weigel, Professorship of Computer Simulations in the Sciences at Chemnitz University of Technology and colleagues from Coventry University (UK). The conference will take place online from August 2 to 5, 2021.

The focus of the meeting is on scientific exchange between the participating scientists. Since it is the leading conference in the field, we expect discussions to lead the way regarding new and particularly methodological results in the physics of computer simulations. The applications discussed span the entire range of modern physics, from statistical and biophysics to materials science, fluid dynamics, geophysics, astrophysics, and lattice gauge theory. Methodologically, results from computer simulations will be showcased alongside  computational approximation methods and machine learning techniques.

An overview of the topics covered and the conference program can be found on the conference website.
