SAXEED Supports the Start into a Professional Future

Get off to a flying start thanks to the digital workshop - free and individual advice

Whether developing digital business models and social media marketing, change management, creating crowdfunding campaigns or producing videos, the start-up network SAXEED, a project of the Center for Knowledge and Technology Transfer at Chemnitz University of Technology, has digitalized its services and now offers students, employees, and alumni lectures and a variety of exciting workshops online. The program is still free of charge. The complete overview of the upcoming online events is available on the web (https://www.saxeed.net/qualifizierung-2/qualifizierung). Enrolment and participation is also possible without complications at the three south-west Saxon universities in Freiberg, Mittweida, and Zwickau where SAXEED is also active.

Intensive support for career start, self-employment and start-up phase

For those who are currently working on the idea of self-employment, who have a business idea and concrete questions about feasibility and implementation, or about self-employment, the SAXEED start-up advisors will continue to be available for counselling – for now by telephone, e-mail and video conferences. The contact details are available online (german only).

Those who are not yet involved in self-employment, but who find working in young companies exciting, can inquire about further offers in the SAXEED Start-up Exchange (german only).

The EXIST boot camp in June 2020 also marks the start of a new format in which interested parties are prepared in a targeted and comprehensive manner for the application for an EXIST start-up grant or EXIST research transfer. Both funding programmes of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi) support university members in the implementation of their founding idea by providing considerable support in terms of securing personal livelihood, material expenses, and coaching. Here too, the SAXEED start-up advisors are happy to receive enquiries and are happy to provide further information.

SAXEED start-up network

The start-up network SAXEED as a project of the Center for Knowledge and Technology Transfer at Chemnitz University of Technology is a key player in the support of start-ups. SAXEED prepares and motivates university members and graduates to found their own company. Through the wide range of network and teaching events, founders are qualified and accompanied by experienced start-up advisors from the evaluation of the business idea to the development of the business model and the establishment of their own start-up.

The joint project SAXEED has been in existence since 2006 at Chemnitz University of Technology, TU Bergakademie Freiberg, Mittweida University of Applied Sciences and the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences Zwickau. During this time, more than 1,100 start-up projects have been supervised across locations, resulting in over 300 start-ups. About 40 percent of these are technology-oriented companies with high growth potential.
