Information on the submission, process and invoicing of translation orders
- When submitting a text for translation, a brief explanation of the necessity and urgency of the translation must be provided.
- The decision to prioritise and release the order to the translation agency is the responsibility of the translation coordinator at the FLC and is based on the available quota.
- Study and examination regulations as well as project applications and scientific publications are generally excluded from the translation quota of the framework contract.
- It is possible to translate e.g.:
- regulations (except study and examination regulations),
- individual module descriptions,
- selected websites,
- documents, forms and explanations (e.g. on data protection, travel expenses, procurement, etc.)
- Information on student recruitment (e.g. study programme flyers and information brochures)
- Invoicing takes place after completion of an individual order. The invoiced amount must be paid in full by the commissioning department within 30 days.
Translation at FLC
As a rule, the Foreign Language Centre (FLC) does not offer translation services. The focus of the FLC's tasks is on language training. Our language teachers are qualified in foreign language teaching, but have no corresponding state-recognised translator qualifications, so they are not able to carry out official legal translations.
English Proofreading Service
Professors and academic staff are welcome to have abstracts, articles, presentations or papers proofread by a native speaker as part of our Proofreading Service. For more information on the Proofreading Service, please follow this link: English Proofreading Service
