A final paper in Education consists ofan independent scientific work about an educational topic which is connected to the study and the selected emphasis. The candidates demonstrate that they are able to work on a specific problem of the discipline with the application of scientific procedures and argumentation and to reflect on their results critically.
 
At the Professorship for Education, final papers can be written in the following courses of study:
  • BA in Education
  • MA in Education and Learning Cultures
  • Magister in Education
Principally, just works are assigned which have a focus on the following topics of the professorship.
The emphasis of the professorship is on General Education and the Qualitative Methods of Educational Research.
 
In consultation with the Professorship for Education it is possible to write a final paper in Adult Education.
 
Additionally, it is possible to work on freely elected topics. For further information please write an email.
Literature work can be written in the following fields:
  • Educational theory
  • Classics of Education
  • Socialization and Reproduction of social inequality in educational systems
  • International comparison of educational systems and institutions
Empiric final papers can be written in the following fields:
  • Conversation analysis on interaction and communication in teaching-learning-processes
  • Biographical analysis on educational processes in Eastern Germany
  • Evaluation of edcuational institutions on the basis of statistical data
